O Ananda You are asking too many questions about a Deity of which many questions should not be asked you question much, what is woven, warp and woof lest your head should fall off, go and hold your peace. O Radhe, may it please you, what is the Imperishable and would you really sanction that my head do fall off or cruelly cynical of me being a faceless mannequin? O Ananda, mannequin comes to light only with knowledge well woven fabric, lengthwise warp and crosswise woof texture, the fundamental structure of the cosmic blanket. My dear, it is the same Imperishable; unthought thinker, the unseen seer, unheard hearer, understood understander. No other seer than It is there; No other hearer than It, No other understander than It. Now go, hold your peace! Whatever oblations man may offer, whatever sacrifices he may perform, penances of thousands of years all this must have an end, unless the Imperishable, is known, to be the space woven, warp and woof! Pitiable is he who departs the world without knowing, who departs this world knowing the Imperishable is Brahman indeed for he thereby knows Brahman. Now come, bring that blanket, let us hold our peace! RADHE’S POEMS © (156)
