OK, Peeps - my souvenir of Liberia is (Ta-dum!) MEASLES!!!! I found out today that I have been contagious for six days. It is my sincere hope that I did not infect any pregnant women (miscarriage, stillborn, premature birth) or young children. in the grocery store. Or my friend, who is a visiting nurse, did not become contagious and accidentallly infect a frail old person. If ANY of you are foolish enough to think that vaccinating a child is more dangerous than exposure to disease, THINK AGAIN! This world is growing smaller by the day, and you never know who, including your kindly old English teacher, might accidentally infect your child. Luckily, my daughter received her MMR shots as scheduled so her baby is NOT AT RISK.
