OK, more memories.Do you remember the Friday morning Assembly senior year, we jammed the Mind Reader? Yes, every Friday morning we had the Assembly where they attempted to bring in some educationalish act/presentation/lecture. I remember it got worse every year. I thing the number of people doing it dried up so they started booking some strange acts, like the kid that did push ups on stage for 40 minutes. We also go so big they moved to two back-to-back shows. We were in the first one. Well one Friday they brought this mind reader act in. A man and his wife. He went into the audience and asked someone for a item and she stood blindfolded on stage and would guess what it was. Guessed numbers too. But it took her longer to guess a 9 than an 1. He had a hand in his pocket and she had long hair that covered her neck. We figured that he had a transmitter and she had a receiver and an earpiece and he used used Morse code or the like to give her the answer. Well we had electric shop right after the first assembly, While the second one was going on. I mentioned this to the teacher (what was his name?) and said I wished we could jam them.He said we could and whipped up a spark coil generator and a power supply. We snuck backstage plugged it in and started cycling it. And indeed we got them to mess up just enough to scare them but not ruin the show. They high tailed it out of there really fast after that second show. Shop teacher swore if they came back next year hed have so much voltage going through the air the stage lights would glow by themselves. Anyone else remember this? I know we had a small group doing it. I dont remember if we bragged or not.
