OMOREGIE OGBEIDE-IHAMA B.ENG, MBA, MCMI House of Representatives, Oredo Federal Constituency, Edo State 2015 “In a time of universal deceit –telling truth is a revolutionary act.” (George Orwell) THE MAN - A True Son of the Soil Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama was born into the humble family of late Sir Godfrey Ogbeide-Ihama and late Mrs. Foluke Ogbeide-Ihama and he is one of the many successful children of his late parents. His father hailed from the Jackson Ogbeide-Ihama dynasty in Benin (Umogun n’ihogbe Royal family) and the Eboigbe n’etebite (Egbe latose family). His mother hailed from the Lawani-Bokini family in Benin (Egbe Ezomo and Okemole) and (Egbe Ero n’urubi/Izevbokun no’rio Oshodin- Oloke family). At the time of his birth, his parents took up as point of their parental duties to ensure very good education for their children and at a very early age the Ogbeide-Ihama children were introduced into their traditional heritage and were taught the tenets of diligence and virtuous living. The lessons incubated into young Omoregie manifested even in his early days as he exhibited uncommon brilliance in academics, extracurricular activities from being a Band leader, pioneer member of War against Indiscipline Brigade, Dramatic society president, member of Quiz and Debate society, to Students representative committee secretary where his leadership qualities blazed forth like a comet for all to see. His academic record can simply be described as exceptional and very impressive. He began his educational pursuit in Emotan nursery and primary schools in Benin City, proceeding to Federal Government College Warri (Unity School). He later gained admission into University of Benin, where he studied and graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering bagging a Second Class Honours (Upper Division). Armed with an excellent academic record and a burning desire to contribute a telling quota, he researched on photovoltaic technology as he studied deeply and practiced the generation of power supply via (Sunlight) Solar energy. He worked with Lenbrook Solar Systems in Lagos, where he successfully executed solar powered water projects within Nigeria. Omoregie completed his N.Y.S.C programme in Port Harcourt, Rivers State where he served and worked with Exxon Mobil as a drilling engineer. There he gained tremendous experience in the Oil and Gas sector before venturing into private business. He set up a very successful company, Foluke Global Resources Ltd, a company named after his dear mum Foluke and they are into civil works, supply and installation of solar equipment. As a young entrepreneur, who saw that balancing a demanding workload with achieving competitive advantage in the business world today was indeed challenging, and as a man in constant need to broaden his horizons by acquiring knowledge; Omoregie took up a Master programme at the Robert Gordon University Aberdeen, Scotland where he bagged an MBA Degree in Oil and Gas Management. He got back into the Oil and Gas industry and his stellar academic record and dogged pursuit of excellence saw him appointed as the in-Country Manager of Score Energy Services Nigeria Limited, an arm of Score Group Worldwide. He is also a director at FGR Energy with focus on Gas Turbine Solutions. Omoregie is an epitome of humility and simplicity, he is a people person who is able to relate with people from all walks of life and is endowed with a rare spirit of selflessness, a young man with International exposure; he was not enamoured with the lure of pecuniary gain and even though he was inundated with job offers from around the globe chose instead to return to his home country to grow a dwindling population of men and women truly dedicated and committed to achieving and surpassing the developmental goals of our great nation. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama is a devoted Christian and family man married to Oge Ogbeide- Ihama. He is a member of several international and local bodies including the Chartered Management Institute, United Kingdom (CMI), Association of MBAs (AMBA), Rotary Club International etc. All that is necessary for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing.
