OUR WATER AND ENERGY FUTURE As we come to the end another extreme drought year, we must ensure Temecula has a safe and reliable water supply. We need to create new programs to improve water and energy concerns, improving our ability to respond to severe droughts or energy shortages. Dr. Rahn can navigate these complex issues, providing strong leadership and novel solutions. This includes the following actions: Increase efficiency in water use and delivery at City facilities and parks and reduce the water bill Ensure that future development has an enough water without compromising our current supplies or residents Identify opportunities to increase reclaimed water use for non-drinking water purposes (e.g. irrigation) Save money by increasing energy conservation and efficiency at City facilities, municipal lighting, and infrastructure through new energy conservation programs, upgrades, and technology
