OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE ON THE STANDING OF THE MALAWI SCHOOL LEAVING CERTIFICATE OF EDUCATION AGAINST SOME SCHOOL LEAVING QUALIFICATIONS.No need to be convinced otherwise. Education is pretty important throughout the world, and different countries have different commitments to improve education standards. My search for the best high school qualification in the world places British A-level qualifications/cambridge Pre-University certificate as the best qualifications in the world above the American High School Diploma, and other systems of higher school leaving qualifications. No wonder, Prof. Bingu wa Mutharika re-introduced Kamuzu Academy scholarships, however if the government can not do it for you, do it yourself Zimbabwe government through the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) and Tanzanian government through their local examination boards have localized these A-level examinations. The issue of quality of these qualifications, may of course be left out for another forum. Is it because Mwalimu Julius Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere and comrade Robert Mugabe were teachers and that they understand education better ? No-one can stand up with integrity and criticize the standing of A-level qualifications. In the S.A.D.C region and of course beyond, A-level qualifications or Cambridge Pre-University qualifications are by far superior to the following School Leaving Qualifications: Malawi School Leaving Certificate of Education ( M.S.C.E.), the Namibian School Leaving Certificate of Education, ( N.S.S.C.E.), the I.B. Diploma, the South African National Senior Certificate ( N.S.C/ or also known as Matric). This M.S.C.E thing is very limiting at an international front. SAQA/UMALUSI in SA, for example, verifies this MSCE thing and places it one step behind the South African National Senior Certificate ( N.S.C/ or also known as Matric). If we want the best, our children should get the best education that the developed countries are also getting. Otherwise no rise. We will only be brainwashed and believe that B.S.S, Z.S.S, Marist Brothers, Dedza, Marymount, etc etc are the best national secondary schools in the world etc etc
