Obesity levels in the UK are soaring, according to recent research - TopicsExpress

Obesity levels in the UK are soaring, according to recent research by the NHS if current trends continue we are set to have 60% of the population classed as morbidly obese by 2050. So what has changed since the 1950s when less than 1% of the population were obese. We know that technology, tv, computers, social media have contributed to the problem as peoples activity levels have dramatically reduced. We also know that the diet industry has contributed with the introduction of false sugars in food, more chemicals additives and flavourings. We know we are overheating and under active. So is the solution to this problem surgery ?? Does this help the cause?? Surely we have to go deeper than this and investigate the food industry in particular the diet industry. Why isnt the government investing in and supporting more private fitness companies to get involved. Wouldnt it be great if you could use my services and it was subsidised by the government. Its not rocket science, the money the government would save on treating diabetes and other chronic illnesses associated with obesity would be astronomical. telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/10960538/Obesity-surgery-could-be-offered-to-a-million-more-people-on-NHS.html
