October 30th: On this Day in Music History 1939, Born on this day, Grace Slick is an American singer, songwriter, and former model, best known as one of the lead singers of the rock groups The Great Society, Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, and Starship, as well as for her work as a solo artist from the mid-1960s to the mid-1990s. 1939, Born on this day, Otis Williams (born Otis Miles, Jr.) is an American baritone singer. Nicknamed Big Daddy, he has also acted as a sporadic songwriter and record producer. Williams who is best known as a founding member of the Motown vocal group The Temptations in early 1960 as The Elgins, a group in which he continues to perform. Schmit has also worked for decades as a session musician and solo artist. 1960, Born on this day, Joey Belladonna (born Joseph Bellardini) is a thrash metal musician, best known as the vocalist for the thrash metal band Anthrax. He is also the vocalist and drummer of the cover band Chief Big Way. 1967, Born on this day, Gavin McGregor Rossdale is an English musician and actor, known as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the rock band Bush. Following Bushs separation in 2002, which lasted for eight years, he was the lead singer and guitarist for Institute, and later began a solo career.
