And Land Rover models are also getting more and more expensive, capped by ever loftier flagship models. And this is the most expensive one yet. The result of a collaboration between the Special Vehicle Operations department at Jaguar Land Rover and gunsmiths Holland & Holland, this special edition Range Rover is based on the top-of-the-line, long-wheelbase Autobiography Black model, and it incorporates some even more exclusive enhancements. Its painted a special shade of green, for starters, covering everything from the bodywork to the mirrors and grilles, all set off with plenty of chrome trim. But its inside the cabin where the biggest difference is felt.This special Range Rovers interior has been fitted with Executive Class reclining seats, a redesigned center console with electrically deployable walnut tables, super-soft tan and brown leather, and French walnut trim carved from a single slab of wood to ensure the veneer is perfectly matched. Holland & Holland craftsmen have even given the SUVs door handles the same scroll engraving treatment as the bespoke shotguns that, like Land Rover, have earned it a royal warrant. Still not enough to set it apart? The flagship Range Rover also comes with a gun box in the trunk, crafted from aluminum, trimmed in leather and lined in Alcantara. (The customer will have to supply their own rifles to fill it, though.) Its fitted to a deployable cargo floor made of aluminum and carbon fiber and finished in leather and wood just like the seating space. All of which ought to give buyers anxiously awaiting the opportunity to buy Bentleys forthcoming utility vehicle something to think about. This isnt the first time weve seen Holland & Holland lend its talents to create a high-end Range Rover, but with JLRs own SVO department now up and running, it no longer has to turn to an outside outfitter like Overfinch to bring it to life. SVO will only built 40 examples of this model each year for three years. Buyers will be able to choose from a 4.4-liter V8 turbodiesel or 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine, but theyll have to pay dearly for the privilege: the MSRP on this ultra-luxury ute is £180,000 - equivalent to $285,000.
