Oh, I just remembered: granddaughter Abby, in the car on the way to Davenport Preschool yesterday, asked me for career advice. She thought shed like to be a teacher, or perhaps a fire-person, or maybe a police-person, and she wanted to know what I thought she should be. I said that I thought she would be a very good teacher, but that she would probably think of some other options in the years to come, and that I was sure she would give each choice wise consideration before making a decision. Oh, the joy and terror of a blank canvas and limitless possibilities.
