Oh the irony. The NYPDs work stoppage --born out of their foot-stomping rage at Mayor DeBlasio for saying he worries, as a father, about his black son being targeted by police and for his refusal to decry the actions of those protesting social and racial injustice--means that the NYPD arent ticketing or arresting people for minor offenses... Hmmm.... who might that benefit? Its gobsmacking. Refusing to ticket people for minor offenses like parking tickets, open containers, maybe selling loose cigarettes, these empty the pad policies have lead the NYPD into targeting minorities and arresting innocent people in order to make quota. The police are going to put their dogs on a leash? Lets see how the city manages to deal with a little less harassment. Who knows, it might be good for our soul. Thats what I think, Jim Chambers....
