Ok, 6 weeks out ECC. I have been observing a lot around the gym lately. There is some negativity amongst competitors and bashing their coaches/ other coaches. These people I hear talking are in fact first time competitors. They are saying things like her coach has her on 1300 calories or her coach has her doing an HOUR of cardio.. News flash. Its 6 weeks out. Its supposed to be hard. Most people DO need to drop their calories low the last little while in order to be lean enough, and guess what?! Cardio is a part of prep!!. I do work with some girls who are blessed and have efficient metabolisms/ are ectomorphs that I dont have to push them quite so hard. That being said. There is a fine balance of pushing hard and being stupid! You shouldnt be passing out or going hypoglycaemic during your workouts. But you should be hungry and tired. If you arent feeling the effects of contest prep by now and you are questioning if you will be lean enough, maybe you arent dieting hard enough. Harsh reality that people think that dieting hard is unhealthy! Yes I agree at 15 weeks out you should NOT be on low carbs and low calories or you probably arent in a good spot to compete in the first place, but the last month, yepp!! I think most other coaches would agree with me, so I wish people would stop complaining about their prep being hard, and their coaches or other coaches sucking because they are pushing you !! Just accept the fact that you WANT to do this :) . Kay rant over. Back to studying ;) :) .
