Ok I know Im going to get hate mail after this from all the pet - lovers out there... I dont understand how its not illegal to have a dog on your lap while driving a car. Talk about distraction. Today I saw a tiny poodle type looking like he was trying to escape out the drivers window while they struggled to hold on, pull the dog back in, and drive a car at the same time. Then I saw a big dog in the front of a truck pacing back and forth over the driver and whacking him with his hard tail. I think the safer plan would be keeping them in a kennel if they must go in the car, then the driver can focus on driving...just like the other wreckless driving or distracted driving laws.
