Ok. So... what we thought was a mere sprain, has blossomed into something else. Right before Melodys concert, the doctor called. Upon closer inspection, it appears that Melody has sustained a small, less-than-3mm chip/fracture. The doctor doesnt think that the care and treatment will be much different in the short term. So she can still return to school tomorrow. However, we get to do the same song and dance once again. The doctor gave me a phone number for a specialist. Im to call and set up ANOTHER appointment so we can jump through some more hoops. Speculation is that she may need a more boot-like splint and may need to stay off the foot/use crutches for a longer period of time. I wont know any more until I make the appointment and take Melody in again. More missed school and more missed work are in the cards along with surely additional school red tape. Camping this weekend? Who knows? Probably well be okay if we exercise discretion. More info as I get it. Prayers appreciated.
