Ok, here I go being politically incorrect again. I truly hope that before Michael Sam hits training camp, Tony Romo or Tom Brady or some other big name NFL player comes out and announces that they are gay. That way this kid and Oprah look like fools for making a spectacle out of something thats not really a big deal. Hes gay. He plays football. WTF do the two have to do with each other that when added together they merit a reality show and hours upon hours of media attention? I have gay friends who do wonderful things for great causes, take care of their families, act as constructive members of society. Where is their check? Where is the OWN with their reality show? This kind of militant activism is the cause of the perceived bigotry. Yes, some people are anti gay. Yes, some people are racist. Yes, some Neanderthals even think women are inferior. But when you artificially manufacture a controversy, you inflame the problem by mobilizing the opposition, and agitating the moderates. Who benefits? In this case, a mediocre football player who will squeeze millions of dollars out of something that is a struggle for so many others to get through.
