Ok, so I have been looking into having corrective surgery for my eyes. Ive talked with one doctor about having a clear lens extraction. (Some of the eye exams required me to not wear my contacts for two weeks). The doctor referred me to another doctor to check into the possibility of LASIK. (I had looked into this about 10 years ago - maybe longer and I was unable to have this due to the degree of nearsightedness that I have). So on Wednesday of this week I went to LR to see if I would be able to have LASIKs now. The answer was no. However, he did encourage me to learn about another procedure that is helping individuals with my degree of nearsightedness. This is: Implantable Contact Lenses. I really like the doctor in LR. He was honest with me and isnt pushing me to have surgery that may not be my best option. Also, this doctor is going to become trained to do this surgery. When it becomes FDA approved. So, Im researching another possibility to have corrective surgery. By the way, I like all of the eye doctors I have spoken with. Hopefully one day soon Ill be able to have the degree of nearsightedness that I have reduced.
