Ok so I used Endomondos calculations, and came to the conclusion that around 170g of carbon dioxide is saved per kilometre of cycling. So I used this to calculate how much carbon dioxide will be saved saved when Ill start cycling from Safi to Junior College everyday next month (9.2km each way = just 18.4km daily). 8.5 months of school = ~255 days, of which around 73 days are weekends, that leaves us with 182 days. Subtract 2 weeks of Christmas holidays and 2 weeks of Easter holidays, 14 days, which means approximately 168 school days in a scholastic year. 168*18.4km = almost 3,100km, multiplied by 0.17kg = about 530kg carbon dioxide from our air saved PER person... now imagine if cyclists increase!
