Ok, starting from Saturday things get interesting: It begins with Clockenflap in Hong Kong. Cant believe it has been 5 years since I was there the first time while managing Pet Conspiracy. Found an old video from that time worth watching - including Helen Fengs crazy stagedive in the end. Since then I have been there (nearly) every year and had the honor to bring other amazing artists such as BONAPARTE, Brandt Brauer Frick, Nova Heart & Free the birds (aka ZIYO - Helens first band) to the ever evolving fest. Congrats to everybody who made the Flap grow and prosper. Cant wait to see all the amazing ppl behind its success and all the friends and bands around the region (and world) who will be there. Then sunday on to Sydney to attend and speak at #electronicmusicconference. Steve Aoki will have a keynote speech. Really not a fan of his music but to see the man speaking instead of throwing cake could genuinely be interesting. Or not at all - we will see. Wondering how this whole EDM thing (bubble?) will evolve anyway. Then, last and favorite stop: Yangon! This already bizarre city in a bizarre country with a bizarre history will get even more bizarre when my childhood heroes Die Toten Hosen will play a free concert there. Their album Damenwahl was one of my first cassettes when I was 6 years old and their 1000th concert (in front of 60.000 ppl and with Bad Religion as their support band!) was one of my first concerts, and possibly one of the reasons I once upon a time played guitar in a punk band called Hi Density (I look at you Philipp Springer, Lars Leskovar & Daniel Mertens). It will be a very strange but happy moment in my life when I will DJ at their afterparty on Dec 6th in Yangon City. Thanks to everybody who made it happen and looking forward to meet again all the good people out there! Life is funny sometimes.
