Okay, Rock Chicks and Rock Gurus, in a week where I unleashed a book Ive been waiting freaking YEARS to write, the weather gods have conspired against me, kicking up allergens that are literally doing my head in. So I decide to switch up my meds and get myself some Claritin-D. As Im waiting at the pharmacy, as you do, I instantly formed a bond with my fellow waitee, sharing tales of my severe allergies. I realize shes a pessimist and begin to panic when she tells me nothing will work, considering my ears felt like someone was drilling holes in them, my head felt like someone shoved steel wool in it, and I was waking up sneezing. Yes, waking up *sneezing.* I do know (although I havent done it yet whilst being back in the US) that you have to get these types of meds from the pharmacy due to the meth problem. What surprised me was being presented with the one and only contract I had to sign that I didnt read word for word (and feel confused by) prior to having the box of pills turned. That being the pharmacist asking me to Sign there to say you arent going to make meth with these. Yes, Ill sign. I can guarantee FOR CERTAIN that I will not make meth with my decongestant allergy pills. Not only do I not know how to make meth and not only would I never make meth even if I did know, I will be taking them for the purpose of decongesting my allergy symptoms. I did mutter, Freakin meth heads, while I signed the box, just because I felt crap and coulda been out of there in five minutes, rather than the fifteen it took to wait at the pharmacy. As for my pessimistic fellow waitee, she was wrong. I dont feel great. But I do feel better. Rock on!
