Okay, this is a post I have been meaning to address for a while now. Just because something is the healthier option for you, doesnt mean it is still healthy when eaten in surplus amounts- nothing is. (even broccoli for example when eaten in surplus amounts can cause stomach cramping from too much fibre.) Everything in balance. I find this particularly common with foods labeled: gluten free, high in protein, low fat, no sugar etc as it lulls the consumer into a false sense of security. Yes, these yummy raw cheesecakes are great for you- high in omega 3s, no sugar. However when you are consuming 1+cakes a day, it is still surplus eating. Exactly the same with protein bars, I have recently heard of girls having a certain bar instead of a full meal all day, everyday. There is no substitute for real foods. The nutrients, minerals and vitamins within whole foods cannot be gained from a processed bar. Keep it simple, eat whole foods, find your balance! sophieguidolin.au
