Old Age - The Lord tells us we get 70 years as a rule to live in this life - and if you notice the face of people as they age - they take on the effects of ill health as they age - by degrees - and love can help us pick ourselves up by companionship - but if we are left alone like Robin was - and we feel enough pain long enough - we make bargains with our God. How much do we have to suffer? Can we come home and cut the rest of the course off ? It isnt the same after a heart attack - the same after something is damaged in the brain - isnt the same when the pain justifies poisoning the body in defense of the pain - isnt the same when you see in the mirror what you have felt on the inside for a long time - Robin Williams seems to have been a good guy - who grew up playing with an army of expensive toys in his dads detroit executive home - where Robin Learned to entertain himself with his manic energies - his sound effects and personalities invented to talk about life in the manic voice. But he didnt do the depressive voice. He didnt tell the pains ideas - talk about the suicidal urge - that ideation that writes its own story - that bargains for safety for the good of the family - the good you can still do - that God helps you still do - until you find yourself alone - and you dont see the bridge to the other side from that alone place. All the money in the world wont reverse old age - its a bargain you have to keep negotiating - to find value in the weaknesses - to value the weaknesses in others - to take the suffering and make work out of it - to share the bottom land emotions - not just the house on the hill highs. We have a shit load of suffering in this country - and the poor and the sick know all about it - and there is a reality Americans have come to meet they do not like finding out about. The 1930s depression with the dust blowing in your face - the heat making you thirsty - the poverty making you hungry. The lack of work making you tired of hearing no all over again - they donlt need you to work there either. The look in your familys faces - the bored look on the kids faces with lack of entertainment and interest in a life of poverty swatting flies at the out house. There is an ugly reality to life - a diminished capacity we havent been exposed to in television happy endings - Robin Williams was supposed to win in the end - not choke himself to death. My brother gave a guy who killed himself a hard time for doing that to families - for being weak. Another guy told me life was great - as long as you dont weaken. But like the summer grass - our time of winter comes -- and we fade away and go the way of our fathers. A sense of time and place has passed away - another Ward Cleaver example on how to cope with life - the - humorous class clown acting out to make lifes ugliness look ridiculous - to make fun of the bad guys - and make the good guys feel better - they have a hero who can speak the same language and take the sting out of the story they tell about themselves - give them a sense of self they can enjoy and have fun with - at a price. Opportunity cost. If we are playing - how much work are we not getting done.? If we have republicans in the place of law makers expected by the constitution to do the job of taking the peoples taxes - and creating the General Welfare with those taxes - in a changing world that needs new solutions to the same old problems of how to feed each other as the 1, 2s and 3s of intelligence band together as brothers and sisters - and support the less gifted of the world - the poor who are always with us as God tells us - the widow and the orphan - the lost - not just the saved - the evil all the good of history have had to defend against. We bury our dead and move back to the line to do our duty. God rest the soul of our brother Robin Williams. God support the souls of our brothers in need of the support Robin came to realize he needed. But his buddy Christopher Reeve died of tragedy. His buddy Johnathan Winters died of age with difficulty. Robin made a conscious decision how much more to suffer. We are all suffering to some extent. Some of it is induced by the poor decision making of republicans - by the power they stole to themselves and tell lies to keep - selling half truths on fox views to mass produce propaganda with a hate democrats narrative that conservatives eat up - and learn to hate instead of love - and get to liking hate - just like the bigots who lynched blacks - like the hate of evil in all aspects of history. Its wrong to hate and bad things come from it. That guy in the white house has no place for hate against any americans - or any race of people - just hate against mans inhumanity against man. He has to feel pain - and hate to give pain to anybody. He has to know the levers of government are meant for ending suffering - for leading the crowd to do the right thing - for talking against evil with the power to defeat Satan - the power that comes from knowing Christ the Lord is the Person of Jesus of Nazareth - and the Lords narrative is the word of God - and makes all the difference how you believe Him - how He motivates you to love instead of hate as a natural flawed human being still a slave to sin - with no Spirit in your spirit - to give you the grace of Christ - to treat your wounded flesh with forgiveness - to teach you your wrongs - to humble you and suggest your weakness needs His support - before you can support anybody else - before you can discern right from wrong . Do you know Him? How well does He know you? How much of His work are you willing to do? How well do His people respond to your leadership? Who is this new FDR we need? Who is the man of God who walks the fine line between zealot and wise counsel able to enlighten with the Word - with the facts in this time of life as the truth relates to them - such that we may work together to support life - instead of argue amongst ourselves about lower taxes and freedom to rot in our own filth as states rights republicans. Where would the north be if the south had cancelled the federal government? WE just give away our collective health? Like giving up reading the Bible to our kids in school. We have never exposed them to Gods own word - to His voice - to His decisions - to His goals - to His advice - to His warnings - to our common predicament as history has rotated in similar presentations of the challenges to live together in tolerance and love and accomplishment for the betterment of all the classes - upper - middle - and lower classes - all living in respect of person for one another - coming from a foundation of common decency born of respect for our common creator. Bible doctrine is teaching the proper value of life - the proper narrative of what God has to say about what matters to Him - what we are to obey and what we are to curse.
