On 10/10/2014 shortly after midnight an altercation between Sandra Reyes and another female ensued in front of a local Madera convenience store. During the fight, the unidentified female’s boyfriend attempted to separate the two. As the male was bent over struggling with the women, (S) Sergio Salazar walked up from behind and proceeded to stab the male nine times in his back. The victim transported himself to Madera Community Hospital for treatment. His injuries were not life threatening. On the night of the stabbing, Salazar was with Sandra Reyes and another female identified as Josie Luna. All three individuals were friends and co-workers. During the investigation, Sandra and Josie concealed Sergio’s identity and claimed to have met him that evening. MPD Detective Chavez arrested Salazar for assault with a deadly weapon and participating in a criminal street gang. Salazar is a Norteno criminal street gang member from the Salinas area. Reyes and Luna were arrested for accessory to the crime. js44
