On Friday, after calling and writing countless Congressmen and Senators non-stop for a week, I executed a personal Affidavit of Support and hired an attorney for my 18-year-old friend Gladys, languishing for a month in Coastal Bend Detention Center (where she was told WEDNESDAY she had no right to ask questions and would be thrown in the cold room with handcuffs to freeze if she asked another). Lo and behold! Shes MIRACULOUSLY had a bond set OVER THE WEEKEND, no less, and has been told she can leave tomorrow if her $7,500 bond is paid. Coincidence? NOT. Guess LA MIGRA didnt want her attorney showing up for roll call on Monday at 10 a.m. without ensuring Gladys had been given her legal due.
