On October 3rd Ben Affleck goes ballistic on Bill Maher and Sam Harris for seeing their criticism of Islam as rascist and reprehensible. The media mostly sided with Affleck in their responses. Harris is widely known for his acerbic criticism of all religions as one of the new athiests, in the past decade or so since 9/11. But now, he, and more and more others, see a pressing need to advance a reform of Islam by muslims themselves, in the increasing extremism of some of its adherents, escalating every day.
