On Sheikh Gumi! I ordinarily would not have said anything about nuisance Sheikh Gumi public statement that Buharis supporters threatened him, but for posterity sake. For students of history, Gumi outburst is a calculated political set-up to arouse public sentiments in believing Buhari and his supporters are violent. It disturbs me so much that where you expect to see wisdom prevail vis-à-vis antecedent of sound historical public facts, you still see educated minds jump on such stories to make headlines. These things are not political stunts to me anymore, it smacks STUPIDITY. We should get to know where Gumi is coming from. First, during the 1981-1984 Maitatsine crisis, during Buharis regime, Gumis fathers house was invaded and searched and the man was manhandled by the soldiers. Late Gumi accused Buhari then but Buhari denied it to Gumis disatisfaction. That bad blood had always been there with the Gumis. Go back to 2003, 2007, 2011 and now, and you will realize Gumi has always stood against Buhari. The fact is Gumi is a paid agent of GEJ. Period.
