On Sunday night, September 1st, I lost my first true love as a teenager, my best friend and my husband Joey. Joey passed away at home peacefully of a heart attack and had passed out unconscious and did not suffer. He is with Jesus and his family and friends who have passed before him. He had grown very close to God and prayed with his daily devotional bible everyday and had told me that he was at peace with himself and those he loved most of all, his family and especially his children Anthony and Mary Jo, which he spoke often about and his greatest desire was to see his family in Kentucky and Tennessee once more after having suffered three other heart attacks in the past three months. Joey is our special angel now and I miss him so much. My heart is truly broken and our son Nicholas is extremely sad that he has lost the only father who had been there for him day and night and created much love and good times for our little family here in Florida. Our other daughter Ginger is also upset at our loss of Joey, as he was as much a father to her as well in many ways as God knows. I will be taking Joey home to Burkesville, KY this weekend and services are tentatively set for Sunday at Ballou & Stotts funeral home. An obituary and service announcement will be placed in the Burkesville News paper for exact date and times. I love you JOEY and you will always be the most special man that has been in my life since we were young and now through death. We will be reunited someday when God makes his beautiful call for me to come home and I know Joey will be waiting right there for me too. Physical life is short, but our spirit and love our eternal. Thank you God for reconnecting us in these last few years. I will treasure all of our beautiful and fun times together forever. Alexandra Curtis and my beloved Joey Always!
