On several occasions I spoke with my former boss and friend Richard about who what and who had the biggest effect on my life, who really made a difference in the way I live my life who was the biggest hard-ass I had to deal with. When I told him, my band director, he about gagged. He expected , my track coach, my cycling coach, my father, my mother, anyone, but my band director? Band Directors are not hard-asses expecting the best out of people, they are artsy-fartsy softies, not hard-asses. Anyone who has marched for a season knows how much is involved in it and how much can be taken forward into your life. I certainly benefited from my years in marching band and drum corps. The experiences I had and the friends I made have lasted me throughout my life and god willing will follow me through the rest of my life. To all of my marching family and friends, THANK YOU for being part of my life and making my life that much fuller and enjoyable.
