On the 23rd of june we invite all people and all communities to come together as one nation and one people, wherever we are in the country and from whatever community, faith or identity. That is the whole idea of these peaceful gatherings on the 23rd june. Its the national recognition that wherever we are or from whatever community, we are all the same in purpose and reason. That purpose and reason is not political or of personal faith, it is just the simple statement by a people united in agreement that extremism and violence solves nothing. Only the visable solidarity of that belief and principle by the majoriy of us as one people, irrelevent of faith or identity, can bring about any real change. As long as we continue to blame and condemn, refuse to talk or even listen, then how can we ever expect to bring about peace, understanding unity ? We must stop this blame culture and the belief that we are not responcible for our own feelings or grieviences. If we all come together as one people united under one cause and purpose that says with one voice together that extremism and violence solves nothing, then surely we agree on something and we have made a start. Thats all we need to do together as one people. Lets just make a start, hold out our hands, and say "lets do this together" no matter of what faith or identity, lets just do this together.
