On the bit Not only totally inappropriate for those who choose to ride bitless, this is an expression that I think is one of the most misinterpreted and misunderstood in the pantheon of horse training language. It also does not remotely describe what is actually the essence...... What would be a better expression to use that more fully describes what on the bit is truly supposed to mean? Perhaps On the aids to reflect the whole horse and whole rider focus of what it should mean? Or maybe In hand to reflect the more specific relationship of the rein / bridle - hand aids? Or possibly something completely different and new? Any suggestions?
