On the morning of 6/5/02, I woke up with the worse stomach pain. I wasnt sure what it was. I didnt think it was labor pains. I just knew I felt yucky. I couldnt get comfortable. I went from the bed to the floor to the bathroom to bed to the floor all day. In between my uncomfortable moments, I slept. During one of my many naps, Hubby called the doctors office and told them that he thought I was in labor. He woke me up from my nap and told me to shower and get dress. We drove to the medical office at Dekalb medical - Hillandale. Approximately 5 mins from the doctors office my water broke. It is approximately 4 pm. We get to the office and they confirm my suspicion. I tell them that this child is a trip. He is actually coming on his due date. They informed me that he was actually due the day before (6/4). They tell us to go straight to Dekalb medical - north Decatur road. I tell the hubby that we had to go home. I needed my snacks, the car seat, and my exercise ball. We rush back to the house to gather my things and then we rush to the hospital. We arrive at the hospital around 6:30 pm. I am determined to have this child naturally. I try all night long. Whenever the pain got rough, told the hubby off. By 8 am on 6/6, they decided I needed an epidural. So much for the natural child birth. I tried all day to have the baby. He refused to cooperate. They decided at approximately 5 pm that a c section was the answer. 12 hours and 9 minutes after the epidural and 28 hours after my water burst, my bouncing baby boy arrived on the scene. He came when he was ready and how he wanted to come. I will always remember 6/6/02 - 8:09 pm. Happy Birthday Michael. Mommy is so grateful that God saw fit to bless me with you. Much love always!!
