One more comment, which reads like a review (and this particular audience member has written about other productions in a very similar style, so I think he perhaps ought to start reviewing for a living!) this time, from Paul Sorfleet, who also posted it originally in the Hull Arts & Drama page on Facebook: I agree, Neal, a thoroughly entertaining evening with some fine performances all round. Helen Davison was outstanding in both of the plays in which she featured, especially as the Salvation Army character delivering the non-stop verbal assault on her errant husband. Dave Hawxwell was on form, as usual, reminding me very much of Adrian Edmonson in places. Similarly Carol Hawxwells drunken wife had echoes of Miranda Richardsons portrayal of Blackadders good Queen Bess (a view also shared by my friend). I thought Richie Donaldson seemed to relish his multi-character role as the witty butler. Well done also to the newcomers to BADS, who showed a lot of promise. The whole cast can feel justifiably proud of their performances tonight.
