One more thing to be angry about. I spent the last few days on Jury duty, in picking the jury. I was surprised to find the lawyers were actually abusive towards the potential jourors. by the time the lawyer for the complainant had finished his questioning of the first juror, I hated him, I was ready to find for the doctor in the case by this alone. Enter lawyer for the doctor who was just as condescending and rude. As the day dragged on, they would torture prospective jurors by asking them questions and after not receiving answers they liked digging deeper. One lady was in tears saying no she could not make a monetary decision on a wrongful death case no matter what, this lawyer just kept after her. At one point a juror was talking about somebody would need to pay the costs and. that insurance, the judge stood up and said, that will be the last time insurance is mentioned in this case, that is not the issue here. Anyone who has had dealing with the medical community received extra scrutiny and more than once were asked if they would be able to judge the case only on the evidence presented and not using any information they know from outside sources. I found this amazing! next a person who couldnt understand much English was being put to the fire and asked what percentage of English did she understand and on and on, rather than moving on and just booting her, he had to make sure he got a pound of her flesh before kicking her off the jury! I was not ever but in the box, and probably would be put in the clink had I been. it amazes me, we hear so much about education and being informed, but anytime they want us to buy what they are saying or doing, we are never to inform or educate ourselves in the process, only they know what is true and correct. By this 2 day experience, I understand even more so why OJ why and Casey Anthony walked. I dont understand however the decision of the trevon Martin case because the jury could not have only used evidence presented to them to make that decision!
