One of my friends asked me what fitnaturally thinks of the idea of obese people being officially classed as disabled - check out the Posts to page section. Its a very difficult one to comment on and remain politically correct! My gut feeling is that obesity is self-inflicted, but so are a lot of accidents that result in disability, but obesity has less kudos. I think its a concern that people will get benefits for being obese, I dont think that does anything to encourage them not to be. Although Im sure most people would rather not be obese, though I have come across quite a few who dont mind at all - and its personal choice after all. Is obesity self-inflicted? Why do some people remain at a healthy weight and others dont? Should it be classed as a disability? Im opening this one up to the floor! Whatsay you?
