One of my secular friend told me today that she will not use rice (Used as akshata) on her wedding ceremony. She was feeling very proud to show me how open minded and modern she is by telling me that especially on her weeding day she will not WASTE rice. I asked her don’t you waste any rice in your day today life in your house? Don’t you throw away any left over rice cooked in your house for rest of 365 days? You are going to waste lakhs of money on your wedding day and you are telling me you are going to save few rupees rice for one day just to show how modern you are? I just hate such people who feel all religious ceremonies are wastage but for the rest of the year they are spending money as much as they want. Why don’t they remember anything for the rest 365 days???
