One of our family members gave my daughter cotton candy scented Calgon body spray. Just out of curiosity, I thought I would check out some of the ingredients. Ethlhexyl Methoxycinnamate: flammable, possible cancer causer, very toxic to aquatic organisms Benzophenone-3: suspected endocrine disruptor, also toxic to aquatic organisms Ethylhexyl (AKA Octyl) Salicylate: restricted for use in Japan Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane: One or more in vitro tests on mammalian cells show positive mutation results Propylene Glycol: Classified as expected to be toxic or harmful in some organs BHT: Human respiratory irritant Some of these ingredients have good qualities, but the majority of them are overwhelming bad. Instead, fill a 4 ounce glass spray bottle with water, a splash of witch hazel, and 20 drops of ylang ylang essential oil. There! Non-toxic perfume!
