One of the beautiful piece of carvings on sandstone to be used as pillar base for a new Jain Temple being built at Kundalpur near Damoh (MP) for magnificent statues of very old idols of Bhagwan Adinath in sitting (Padmasana) posture 15 feet in height. Kundalpur is an ancient Jain Pilgrim center developed during 10th & 11th Century which has 63 temples of various types. Unfortunately the work is held up since last few years on account of court orders in a petition filed by Archaeological Department. The Shrine of the temple has been left incomplete with exquisitely carved sandstone facade some of which are depicted in these pictures taken by me during my recent visit to Kundalpur. and is a place of salvation of Antim Kevali Shridhar Kevali. (please view in full screen mode to enjoy the intricate carvings)
