One of the interesting things that we have to explain often is Andrews hordes of toys. First it was Lego and now it is Halloween props. We try to keep it even between both kids. Andrew has his toys and Lena has her dancing. With costumes, classes, and trips for competitions it stays fairly even in money spent. If youve ever been to our house you really only see his immense collection and may not know about her dancing. There have been comments made that suggest that we spoil him. I can assure you that both children are equally spoiled. LOL But this brings to light a question for my special needs parents... Do you ever find yourself spoiling one child over the other? Are we subliminally compensating or making up for something else? For us, it would be different if Andrew had an interest in sports or some other activity outside of the house. The toy haul would be a tad less. (As I said, neither child is hurting for toys) We have tried. I would have loved him to play baseball, but as much as I tried he just didnt stick with it and, instead, went to Lego and Halloween as his passions. So, as parents, we do all that we can to make it the best experience ever. How was your day? R
