This version of our history leaves Jews, Muslims, agnostics and others out of this nations founding. The issue was as contentious and complex in colonial days as it is in 2014. What was the Founders vision, and how faithful to it have we been? Dr. John Fea - Dr. Fea is Chairman of the Department of History and Professor of American History at Messiah College. He is a nationally recognized scholar in the field of early American history. He is the author of an acclaimed book entitled: Was America Founded as a Christian Nation? A Historical Introduction. Dr. Fea received his Ph.D. in American History from Stony Brook University. Dr. Richard Hughes, Messiah College Distinguished Professor of Religion, retd., received his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in the History of Christianity From 1500 (CE). He is the author of several influential books, including: Christian America and the Kingdom of God. Discussion led by Imam Talha Ali 1. Do Muslims experience the struggles required to remain true to the Prophets vision in the Koran that Americans find so challenging in our texts? Imam Talha Ali serves as the Imam of the American Fazl Mosque of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the U.S., the oldest Muslim organization in the country. He also serves as Assistant Director of National Public Affairs for the community. Imam Ali was born in Pakistan and immigrated to Chicago in 2002 at the age of 14.
