A multinational firm once asked us to recruit a hundred people for an entry level role. We planned to shortlist three times that number (i.e. 300) for the physical interviews. Our advert on an online job portal generated over 16,000 applicants. What then is the true value of an unemployed Nigerian in the eyes of the Nigerian government? The answer is obvious: N1, 000 PUNCHONLINE. THATS HOW CHEAP THE YOUTHS VALUE THEMSELVES.
