Orsinos on his way to San Diego, California. After a rough start to the week- a traumatic visit to the vet for his rabies shot, landing in the middle of a cat spat and getting smacked in the eye, he started feeling better last night and was relaxed today. He was sleeping in a heap of heavenly warmth when I picked him up and popped him into the beautiful Champagne Samsonite carrier Susan sent for his trip. She even embroidered Orsino on his carrier pad! All Sinos accessories- rabies tag & certificate, registration, small cans of treat food, dry food, bottled water and some litter- were bagged to go when DeLesta called from the 7-11.Orsino spoke to me softly as we left the driveway, and I knew he was back to himself. Uncringing, he sat up and looked through the mesh door as I explained to him what was happening, each step of his trip, with sound effects for the airplane. He appeared to be fascinated, especially when I told him he was going to be a California Surfer Boy. He had his picture taken with DeLesta and with both of us by a cool biker-guy on a Harley :) DeLesta settled him on the back seat of her bright red Jeep where he could see her friend in the front seat, and Orsino looked like he was good to go. (It was a little harder for me, as I waved goodbye.) I hope some of you on the West Coast will get to meet this sweet boy very soon. Safe trip, Sino!
