Our Gospel today presents to us a familiar parable and asks us to - TopicsExpress

Our Gospel today presents to us a familiar parable and asks us to consider how hospitable we are to the Word of God. I would like to share with you a reflection from Pope Francis on this Gospel… Please, let Christ and his word enter your life; let the seed of the Word of god enter, let it blossom, and let it grow…. What kind of ground are we? What kind of ground do we want to be? Maybe sometimes we are like the path: we hear the Lords word but it changes nothing in our lives because we let ourselves be numbed by all the superficial voices competing for our attention…. Or perhaps we are like the rocky ground: we receive Jesus with enthusiasm, be we falter and, faced with difficulties, we dont have the courage to swim against the tide…. Or may we are like the thorny ground: negativity, negative feelings choke the Lords word in us. I know that you want to be goo soil, true Christians, authentic Christians, not part-time Christians…. If it is true, lets do this: in silence, let us all look into our hearts and each one of us tell Jesus that we want to receive the seed of his Word…. In silence, let us allow the send of Jesus to enter our hearts…. Allow it to grow, and God will nurture it. (World Youth Day, July 2013) Indeed, let each of us examine our hearts and ask for the grace of a heart hospitable to Gods Word - that we might bear fruit in this world. Many blessings on your Wednesday, friends!
