Our condolences to the family of JYC members David and Mike Kidd on the loss of their mother. The beautiful, and ever graceful, Jessie Jill Kidd started her journey in this world on February 22, 1929. Survived by her loving husband of 66 years, James. Children, James Michael (Velma), Robert (Pamela), Colleen (Larry) and David. Grandchildren, Jamie(Eli), Sarah, Jenny (Jeff), Michael, Julie (James), Katie, Jillian. Great grandchildren, Hannah, Olivia and Ava. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Jill Immigrated as a young child to Windsor, Ontario, Canada, where she spent her childhood. She met James at the age of 14. He was the boy across the street. The only time they spent apart was when he served in the Navy in WWII. They went on to marry in 1948. They moved to Michigan in 1962 and raised their family in Detroit and Grosse Pointe Farms. They enjoyed a wonderful life of family and traveling. Jill was an active member of the Detroit Edison and Grosse Pointe Farms Boat Clubs. Jill retired from Detroit Edison after 20 years of service. In her retirement, she spent her free time volunteering at Cottage Hospital in Grosse Pointe Farms and spent many happy times at the Farms Park with the grandkids. Cooking was a specialty of hers and she was famous for her Butter tarts, shortbread and cheesecakes. Her most important accomplishment was teaching her children that family is most important and that the celebrations of life cemented family relationships that will last forever.
