Our hearts go out to the students - and of course the parents, families and friends of the vicitms in last nights shooting in Isla Vista. Santa Barbara Hillel and St. Marks Church are open today for prayer, counseling and support. Here is some information - Santa Barbara Hillel Open For Grief Counseling and Prayer Santa Barbara Hillel mourns the tragic loss of life in Friday night’s mass shootings in Isla Vista. We pray for the victims, and are here to support their families and friends of all faiths. On Saturday morning, May 24, Santa Barbara will open our doors to all who wish to come together. We will open at 10:15 am and continue as long as students and community members wish to be present. Trained counselors as well as clergy will be available to talk, and student peer counselors will be here as well to offer support. Our regular Saturday morning Shabbat (Sabbath) service will take place as well on Saturday morning. It will include a memorial prayer, the Mourner’s Kaddish, in the noontime hour.
