Our journey took us yesterday to the cancer center next to Baptist - TopicsExpress

Our journey took us yesterday to the cancer center next to Baptist East hospital where hubby was taken in to be fitted with materials to formulate his mask for future treatments to two locations in the brain area. This was a a pretty un-nerving ordeal but he came out later, walking on his own... wearing a bit of an expressionless look. My heart went out to him and I so wanted to take him in my arms and shield him from any future trauma. This walk is not one of ease at best but rather one where you daily ask God for His guidance every day. Then we had a meeting with one of the oncology team docs who will be administering these direct shots of radiation, when the time comes. This doctor is one top notch doc and very carefully made sure he had all of hubbys medical background etc, prior to moving forward with explaining what all we could expect from this part of the treatment process. He was so gentle, kind and full of compassion as he walked us through the detailed information. Then he gave us a good amount of time to ask questions. We couldnt be more pleased with the care we have experienced so far in this journey. When something comes up and we feel the waves of the present and pending storms, we remember the scripture- yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, l will fear no evil. That is when we take a deep breath and breathe out slowly and try to remember just who is piloting our ship through this storm. Scott Evans and Sherri Grace Eades has attended almost every meeting with the docs and have mentally calculated every detail shared so we can recall later the information. For this, Larry and I are soooo grateful!! We will receive the full pathology reports next week from the biopsy of the lungs... The local hospital got a preliminary report (enough to affirm the fact of malignancy tissue found in the lungs) but they then sent tissue to some place in New York where more sophisticated testing is done to reveal the type of cancer they are dealing with and where it originated. I only share these details so you can perhaps grasp the complexity of all we are coping with. Bottom line- pray that God will continue to speak peace and total trust to our hearts and minds. His Peace brings a calmness that superceds the frantic-ness that at times will threaten to over turn our boat. The next few days we will be at home trying to recover from the past week of upset and trying to set our house in order for where to from here. We are eternally grateful for every communication from all of you out there. Keep us in your prayers, please!! Our neighbors have been simply superb, mowing our lawn, keeping our sweet Charlie even at a moments notice, watering flowers and on it goes. Thank you Elmcrest Subdivision residents for your flood of support. Also, Eminence UPC, and Pastor Eades and Sherri, you have been so supportive in EVERY WAY. My employer has been so flexible and understanding ..... Sending flowers, making hospital visits and assuring me that my job is there waiting when I can return. (For this I am so grateful.) Having and Scott and Toni Klingele drive here and be with their Dad through these past tumultuous days has been a blessing beyond description. Also having Eugene Grace come in for several days, we are so thankful. Nathaniel Grace and Holly Grace have been messaging and staying very close through all of this. Nathan had been with us (just a few weeks ago) over Fathers day. While here, he built hubby a lovely work bench out in our garage.... Hubby is now looking forward to going out soon and organize everything to make the space very useful. We have some awesome kids and we appreciate every sacrifice they made to come be with us through this past little while. Lastly for now, several have asked for our mailing address.... Please send us a private message if youd like our address information. I will be happy to Private message that to you. Sincerely, LarryMarion Sullivan Grace Evans
