Our kids have got to have THE most original excuses. Youngest, M, couldnt find her homework ~ which is due tomorrow and the completion of which decides wether we have a family movie night or not. She was distraught about the risk of losing the movie, which means a whole lot more to her than simply getting screen time ~ it usually also means cuddle time with mom and sometimes popcorn or another snack (rare for the kids)... To be fair, M DID look everywhere that she could think of, all over the house... i looked everywhere downstairs that i could think of ~ a small pile of papers is easy to overlook. Kids bookshelf? Nope. The desk where middle child Z usually works? Nope. On my desk, among other papers? Nope. The kids bookshelf certainly got organized, as did the papers on my desk... :) Ms reasoning was that it MUST be our house phantom. Try THAT excuse on the teachers at school, kiddo. So much better than the dog ate it. LOL!! Oh to be a Shaman kid. :) ... and... yes, i did eventually find her homework folder, in their bedroom, where i was pretty certain it had landed... on the top shelf of their rack at the foot of their bunk bed. M was relieved and a bit embarrassed... by now she has gotten busy finishing her homework and it looks like we WILL get to have our family movie night. Happy days!!
