Our lack of understanding of the politics of the labor force and the power of labor strikes is the reason why so many of us believe that yesterday was a true win and not an orchestrated soup opera by SCAF to reestablish its power and secure public sentiment towards it. The labor strikes during Jan25 were the decisive turning point in the overthrowing of the Mubarak regime. The Morsi coup, completely devoid of labor strikes, though many mobilized to the squares had very little to do with the will of the people and more so with a mass deception. Today my heart is heavy and my tears are easy, not because of the overthrow of Morsi or the SCAF deja-coup, but with the reality of how far we have allowed ourselves to be misled.
