Our second committee meeting is tomorrow evening at The Iguana Cafe at 6:30pm. When I posted the original picnic invite, I had no idea how big this would become. This has really taken on a life of its own, and I am flattered and inspired by the support it has received. Every department in this town has been nothing but supportive, and helpful. This was my first time planning something of this magnitude and it has certainly been a learning experience. Years ago I helped start an organization called Y.A.G. at NSU. Those days, there wasnt too many places in town that wanted to be public about their support. Over the past 2wks of official planning, we havent been able to turn a corner without one of the many businesses in this town offering their assistance. I just wanted to express my appreciation to those eager to support us! Im passionate about the message and education this event will have. I think we will be making history folks!! We have been presented with a million brilliant ideas, and next year these ideas will be handy and possible. This year however, weve picked through the brilliant ideas and taken the ones that are affordable, possible in our time frame, and functional within the confines of the event. I make the statement above so that those who show up tomorrow to the committee meeting understand that it will be less geared towards new ideas, and more geared towards how to get the ideas we have decided on finished!! Please feel welcome to join, but please also feel welcome to take on a job! I love all the ideas, and now we need hands to help see these ideas to light! Sincerely, Carden P.S.
