Our social services are an absolute joke.No wander we are seen as the soft touch of the E.C . My Daughter has lived and worked in Cyprus for 4 years and as her work is seasonal every year she will have a period of about 3 months without work. HOWEVER this is the 1st year she has been entitled to any benefits as their rules say you must have contributed to their scheme for at least 3 years before you have any entitlement to benefits.so if they can impose a common sense rule like this why cant we?? Romanians will arrive and settle and once again we will be expected to bear with there cultural ideals and customs at the expense of our own. Last time I was in Cyprus I was chatting with a local business man at the time Turkey were on the verge of acceptance into the E.U I said what are you going to do when all the Turks come here, He laughed and replied Steve they will go right past my area on the way to the airport .After that they will probably be your problem
