Our very own Cindy Shogan and Kristen Miller, on a trip way up in Barrow, AK, took a minute to share why you should attend the Peoples Climate March later this month! On September 21, world leaders will arrive in New York City for a UN summit on the world’s climate crisis. Against this important backdrop, thousands of people from across the country will also descend on the Big Apple to join ”The People’s Climate March.” We will demand a world with an economy that works for people and the planet; a world safe from the ravages of climate change; a world with good jobs, clean air and water, and healthy communities. For the League, this starts with protecting our Arctic -- ground zero for climate change. So, we’re working with our partners to organize “Team Arctic” – hundreds of people just like you marching to highlight the connection between the Arctic and climate change, and get the message out that what happens up there impacts us all!
