Over the next few weeks we are going to be featuring some of the photographers in our Click-The West Through the Lens exhibition and Sale. This week the photography of Lisa Dearing. Lisa Dearing is a professional, fine art photographer specializing in horses and the American West. Her mission is to capture the enduring traditions and heritage of the West, and to document the changes of the recent modern era on this traditional lifestyle. Lisas work has been exhibited in many galleries and private collections, as well as in a limited-edition coffee table book on wild mustangs. Her photographic work has been utilized for advertising, editorial projects, graphic design and publishing. Upon receiving a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in visual arts and photography from the Academy of Arts College in San Francisco, Lisa worked in commercial film production while on staff at Colossal Pictures. After relocating to Truckee, California, in order to start her own photography business in 1995, she began documenting the traditions, lifestyle and heritage of the changing American West. Her work can be found on cards, book covers, calendars and in advertising and annual reports for major corporate clients.
